Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We work with high-performing individuals and teams across sport, business, medicine, and the arts.
Here are some of the most common questions we receive about the work, the process, and what makes this approach different.

Section 1: Working Together

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with elite performers in high-stakes arenas, including, but not limited to :

  • Professional, collegiate, and Olympic athletes

  • Executives, startup founders, and attorneys

  • Tactical professionals (military, law enforcement, emergency response)

  • Surgeons, physicians, and medical leaders

  • Performing artists (actors, directors, musicians, comedians)

What unites them isn’t the job title—it’s the commitment to growth under pressure.

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching is non-clinical, action-oriented, and focused on performance, mindset, and strategic development. It’s about helping you lead, compete, and recover with clarity—especially in high-pressure environments. There’s no diagnosis or treatment.

Therapy addresses emotional patterns, mental health, and healing. It’s a clinical relationship governed by licensure laws and ethics. I’m trained in both and will always help determine the right path.

How do I know if this is the right fit for me?

We start with a discovery call to clarify your goals and assess fit. I’ll always be honest about what I can offer—and if a referral might better serve your needs, I’ll say so. Fit and trust are foundational to the work.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. I work with clients across the country and internationally via secure video platforms. In-person sessions are available on a limited basis in the NJ/NY area or for team intensives and performance events.

How often do we meet?

It depends on your goals. Some clients meet weekly; others biweekly or monthly. High-performing individuals in the middle of a season, performance cycle, or leadership transition may meet more frequently. We’ll determine a rhythm that supports progress and fits your demands.

Section 2: Process & Approach

How is this different from other coaches or therapists?

This work bridges the worlds of sport psychology, neuroscience, and clinical insight. It's rigorous, relational, and tailored—not templated. I’m not just helping you “feel better”—I’m helping you train, lead, and grow under pressure in real-world contexts. This is about durable change, not motivational hype.

What models or frameworks guide your work?

I draw from:

  • Performance psychology (attention, emotion regulation, deliberate practice)

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive-behavioral methods

  • Psychoanalytic theory (meaning, narrative, identity)

  • Leadership and behavioral science

  • Somatic and neuroscience-informed practices

Every strategy is evidence-based, goal-aligned, and personally relevant.

Do you use assessments or performance tools?

Yes. Based on your goals, I may integrate:

  • Mental performance profiling

  • Leadership or personality assessments (e.g., VIA, Hogan, PrinciplesYou)

  • Qualitative 360 interviews

  • Self-report tools to track resilience, recovery, and focus

Assessment is always used to inform—not dictate—the process.

Do you work with teams or just individuals?

Both. I consult with professional sports teams, startups, law firms, and healthcare systems to enhance performance, communication, and leadership. I also work one-on-one with high-level performers. For teams, I offer a mix of workshops, on-site intensives, and individual coaching.

Section 3: Packages & Pricing

Do you offer packages or just session-based work?

Coaching & Consulting
Yes. I offer structured coaching packages and flexible options.

  • Athletes & Performers: 6–10 session programs focused on confidence, recovery, performance prep, or return from injury.

  • Executives & Leaders: 3- or 6-month engagements including structured sessions, feedback loops, and leadership development.

  • Integrated Clients: For those navigating sport + leadership, we design a custom coaching plan focused on performance, identity, and sustainability.

  • Therapy: Therapy is not packaged. It’s billed per session and aligned with clinical best practices. Available only in New Jersey, where I am licensed.

Do you share your rates online?

No. I don’t post rates publicly. That’s intentional. I want conversations to begin with fit and clarity, not price comparison.
My rates reflect doctoral-level training, licensure, multiple professional certifications, leadership roles, and decades of experience supporting elite performers. We’ll discuss rates openly during the discovery call and choose a model that fits your needs.

Is therapy priced the same way as coaching?

No. Therapy follows a clinical model—billed per session and bound by healthcare laws. Coaching is non-clinical and structured around flexible formats: session-by-session, short-term intensives, or longer-term engagements. The pricing reflects the different scope and structure.
